1 cup of molasses or dark Karo

1/2 cup of melted butter or margarine

Combine the molasses and buttermilk
Sift together the dry ingredients and add to the wet mixture
Add the beaten egg and melted butter or margarine
Beat until the mixture has a creamy consistency
Pour into a greased form and bake in a moderate oven for about 30 minutes.
