2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
1/4 cup unsalted butter or margarine
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup plain yogurt
4 large egg whites
7-minute frosting recipe (see below)

Sift together the dry ingredients and place in a large bowl
Add the butter or margarine, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and 3/4 cup of plain yogurt; beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes
Add the remaining yogurt and egg whites and beat for another 2 minutes
Bake in a moderate oven (170°F) for 30 to 35 minutes in two 20cm diameter round pans, greased
Let cool, fill, and top with 7-minute frosting
