1 cup all-purpose flour sifted
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
125g unsalted butter or margarine
1 egg, not beaten
2 egg yolks, not beaten
1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
Orange filling and topping:
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup honey
2 large egg whites
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
1 tablespoon grated orange zest

Sift together flour, yeast, salt, and baking soda
Beat the butter or margarine
Gradually add the sugar, beating well
Add the egg and yolks, gradually, beating always
Alternate adding the orange juice with the dry ingredients, mixing well
Pour the mixture into two 20cm diameter pans, greased and floured
Bake in a moderate oven for 25-30 minutes
Let cool
Prepare the orange filling and topping:
Mix together sugar, honey, egg whites, orange juice, and grated zest
Place the mixture in a double boiler and beat until it holds its shape
Remove from heat and beat until desired consistency is reached
