2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup crystallized orange peel, chopped
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2/3 cup unsalted butter or margarine, softened
3 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
Orange Glaze:
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup orange juice
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Orange Glaze:
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup orange juice
Combine flour, yeast, and cinnamon
Add crystallized orange peel to 1/2 cup of the dry mixture and mix well
Beat butter or margarine until creamy, then gradually add the dry ingredients, beating well
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, mixing well
Combine fruit and flour
Mix well
Pour into an ungreased 25 cm (10 inch) round cake pan
Bake in a moderate oven (170°C) for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
Let cool, then glaze with Orange Glaze
For the glaze: combine sugar and water in a saucepan
Cook over low heat, stirring only until sugar dissolves
Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and let cool slightly
Add orange juice and pour over cake
Serve 20 slices.
