1 can of fruit salad, drained
3 spoons (tablespoons) baking soda
1 spoon (tablespoon) salt
1 spoon (teaspoon) ground cinnamon
3 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
3 cups chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans also work)
1 1/2 cups dark raisins
1/4 cup brandy
1 can of fruit salad, drained

2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
3 cups chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans also work)
1 1/2 cups dark raisins
1/4 cup brandy
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl
Pour into a rectangular baking dish, greased and floured
Bake in a moderate oven preheated for about 2 hours or until the sides of the cake come loose from the pan
Let cool for 10 minutes in the pan before removing and finishing cooling
If desired, decorate with a frosting made with powdered sugar and water, strawberries, or other candied fruits when serving
