Mash the butter with sugar in a large bowl until creamy
Add eggs, flour, yeast, and Port wine
Mix well to obtain a light and homogeneous dough
Add the currants and mix delicately
Pour into an English cake pan, greased, 29 x 13 cm, and bake in a moderate oven (180°C) for about 2 hours or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Let cool for 10 minutes and then turn out
Slice into 15 portions.
