Preheat the oven to moderate temperature (180°C)
In a bowl, mix together the flour and sugar
Separately, whisk the egg yolks with the rum and milk
Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients
Beat the egg whites until fluffy and carefully add them to the remaining ingredients
Pour into an ungreased 19 cm diameter and 7 cm high cake pan, placed in a larger pan with 3 cm of hot water
Bake in a water bath until firm and the top is golden brown
This takes about 45 minutes
