Moisten the rim of a highball glass with a small amount of sugar
Add the whiskey, 1/2 cup of sugar, and the coffee
Mix until the sugar dissolves. Reserve

Whip the remaining cream with the reserved coffee until it starts to thicken
Pour over the coffee and serve.
