1 apple, peeled and cut into small pieces

Cut the linguiças into bite-sized pieces and let them brown
Remove the linguiças and add the onion, letting it caramelize in the grease left over from cooking
Add the potato, apple, salt, and pepper
Cover and simmer
Add the beef broth and simmer slowly for 15 minutes
Add the ground pork and linguiça
Cover again and simmer for another 10 minutes
Serve in four portions.
