250g of ground beef
1 tablespoon of oil or margarine
1/2 cup of finely chopped onion
2 cups of hot water
3/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley
3/4 cup of diced potatoes
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
1 bay leaf
3 ripe tomatoes, halved
250g of ground beef

Brown the ground beef in oil or butter
Add the onion and cook for 5 minutes
Add the remaining ingredients, except the tomatoes
Mix well, scraping the bottom
Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook slowly until the potatoes are tender
Add the tomatoes and cook for another 10 minutes.
