2 egg whites
2 1/2 cups of confectioner's sugar
1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar
70 square cookies
14 coconut balls
nylon thread
2 egg whites
2 1/2 cups of confectioner's sugar
1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar
70 square cookies
14 coconut balls
nylon thread
Make these decorations a week in advance and store them in hermetically sealed containers
Prepare the glaze: mix together egg whites, confectioner's sugar, and cream of tartar in a large bowl
Beat with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap to prevent drying out
Make the base of the house: place the glaze in a piping bag and pipe onto the surface of one cookie
Place 2 cookies on top, one on each side, to create the walls, and press down well
Secure for a few minutes until the glaze sets
Repeat the process 13 more times, allowing at least 1 hour between each layer to allow the glaze to set properly
Make the roof: pipe additional glaze onto the top of the walls, pipe glaze along the sides of 2 cookies and attach them to the walls, applying gentle pressure to form a slightly inclined roof
Secure for a few minutes until the glaze sets
After building the entire house, allow it to set for at least 1 hour
Decorate the houses by making windows and doors using the glaze piped into the piping bag
Make some zigzag lines representing nine, and place the coconut ball on top like a chimney
(If necessary, trim to desired size.) Allow the house to dry completely (about 1 hour)
Tie a nylon thread around the opening of the house and make a loop to hang it from a tree
Make 14 houses.
