Cake:
16 slices of 10x10 cm bread
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
3 large marshmallows
1/2 cup raspberry or strawberry jelly
1/2 cup water
Sauce:
4 egg yolks
4 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon rum, 1 teaspoon vanilla
whipped cream
Cake:

Preheat the oven
Butter a square baking dish about 20 cm
Slightly flatten the bread
Beat the eggs, milk, and sugar together
Peel and cut the marshmallows
Mix the jelly with water
Dip 4 slices of bread in the egg mixture and arrange at the bottom of the dish
Cover with 1/3 of the mashed potatoes and top with 1/3 of the jelly mixture, repeat this process two more times, finishing with the egg-soaked bread on top
Bake in a moderate oven for 30 minutes
Serve hot or cold
To make the sauce, beat the egg yolks with sugar until almost dissolved, then add rum and vanilla
Whip the egg whites until stiff and fold into the egg yolk mixture, serve separately
