2 1/2 cups beer

2 1/2 cups beer
Mix all-purpose flour with salt and black pepper to taste
Coat beef cubes in the mixture and set aside
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat, sautéing onions and garlic until they soften without browning
Remove from the pan and set aside
Add beef to the pan and brown it on all sides, adding more oil if needed
Add sautéed onions and garlic, parsley, bay leaf, thyme, and beer to the pan
Cover and cook over low heat until beef is tender, for about 1 hour and 15 minutes
Serve hot with boiled potatoes
