Take the butter out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature before starting
Beat the butter well until creamy
Add the egg yolks, beating well after each addition
Gradually add the sugar, beating continuously until a smooth creme forms
Add the dark chocolate chips, beating until a dark, fudgy mixture forms
Grate the cornstarch and add it to the mixture, stirring well
Heat the chopped pecans and grated coconut over low heat, stirring constantly
Remove from heat and let cool slightly
Beat with an electric mixer to break down the mixture into a fine crumb
Add the crystallized fruit and beat until well combined
Shape the mixture into a sausage form
Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving
Slice into thin strips before serving.
