Peel and pit the pear and dates
Cut them into thin slices and the apricots into strips
Place all the fruits in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a simmer until they're tender but not too soft
Remove from heat, strain off excess water, and distribute the fruit among 5 dishes. Reserve
Dissolve the gelatin according to the manufacturer's instructions
Pour over the fruit, let it set, and refrigerate until the gelatin hardens.
