1 kg of guavas
1/2 kg of sugar
4 sticks of cinnamon
2 cups (handfuls) of water

Wash the guavas thoroughly and pit them
Cut them in half and remove the seeds
Set aside
Combine sugar, cinnamon, and water in a pot
Bring to medium heat and stir with a wooden spoon until the sugar dissolves
Stop stirring and let it simmer for 15 minutes or until a syrup forms
Add the guavas and reduce heat
Cook until they're tender but not mushy
Remove from heat and let cool
Transfer to a compote dish or store in tightly sealed glass jars.
