2 ripe guavas
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup orange liqueur
zest of 1 lime
2 ripe guavas

Pit the guavas and remove the seeds
Cut into 1 cm wide strips
Combine the sugar, water, and zest in a saucepan
Bring to a boil and cook until it starts to caramelize
Stir in the guavas and cook for 4 minutes
Add the liqueur, stir well, and remove from heat
Serve with creamy cheese or whipped cream
Serves 4-5 people
Note: Use the seeds and pulp to make ice cream.
