Melt the butter or margarine in a skillet
Dredge the chicken breast strips with salt to taste, and then coat them on both sides
Add 1/2 cup of red wine, and if desired, the canned mushrooms
Cover and let cook over low heat until the chicken is tender
Cut into cubes and serve
