500g of furadinho pasta (bucatini)
Tomato sauce
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/3 cup crispy bacon, diced
1/3 cup fresh prosciutto, diced
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
4 cups diced tomatoes (peeled)
Salt to taste
For serving: 1 cup grated pecorino romano cheese

In a large pot, place 5 liters of water, cover, and bring to a boil
Add one and a half teaspoons of salt and let it simmer again
Add the furadinho pasta in batches, stir well, and cook uncovered until al dente
Tomato sauce
Melt butter with onion, bacon, and prosciutto in a pot over low heat for 15 minutes or until golden brown
Add the crushed red pepper flakes, diced tomatoes, and salt to taste
Simmer covered for 15 minutes or until the sauce thickens
Drain the pasta
Mix with the tomato sauce
Serve hot, accompanied by grated pecorino romano cheese.
