1/4 cup of oil
1 1/2 kg of beef cut into small pieces
/2 kg of onions, peeled and chopped
1 tablespoon of paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
1 pinch of pepper
1 1/4 cup of strong beef broth for the egg noodles (see below)
3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
1 cup of sour cream
1/4 cup of oil

Heat the oil over high heat
Add the small pieces of beef and cook until browned on all sides, stirring frequently
This takes about 15-20 minutes
Transfer the beef to a bowl and set aside

Add the onions to the pot with the remaining oil and cook until softened and golden (about 10 minutes)

Add the beef back into the pot with the onions, paprika, salt, and pepper
Stir well
Add 3/4 cup of beef broth

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, covered, for about 2 hours or until the beef is tender

While the beef is cooking, prepare the egg noodles

In a small bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour and remaining beef broth
Add the mixture to the beef, stirring constantly
Simmer slowly, uncovered, for about 15 minutes

Just before serving, place the sour cream in a small bowl
Gradually add 1/2 cup of the beef sauce
Stir well
Serve with egg noodles
