4 slices of pineapple, without the core
800g of ground beef
4 thick slices of Gruyère cheese
4 hamburger buns
2 cups of chopped iceberg lettuce
8 thin slices of red onion
12 thin slices of tomato
Olive oil (for brushing)
Ketchup to taste (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste

In a non-stick skillet, brush both sides of the pineapple slices with olive oil
Season the beef with salt and black pepper
Divide the beef into four portions and shape into patties
Brush the hamburger buns with olive oil and grill them until they're well toasted
Place one slice of Gruyère cheese on top of each patty and let it melt for about 1 minute
Grill the patties until they're cooked to your liking
Assemble the sandwiches by placing a pineapple ring on each patty, followed by lettuce, onion, tomato, and another pineapple ring
Serve immediately with ketchup if desired
