In a saucepan, combine the vermouth, thyme, cinnamon, and agar agar
Bring to high heat, stirring constantly, until warm (about 5 minutes)
Add vanilla and orange and let it warm again (about 6 minutes)
Remove from heat, transfer to a compote dish, and let it cool (about 10 minutes)
