3 apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 8 wedges (700 g)
250g of smoked bacon, cut into small pieces

In a large pot, combine the butter, salt, black pepper, and half an inch of water
Add the potatoes, apples, and smoked bacon to the pot and bring it to a boil
Reduce the heat, cover the pot, and cook until the potatoes are tender but not falling apart
While this is happening, fry the bacon in another pot over medium heat until crispy
Remove the bacon from the pot with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels
Set aside
Melt the butter in the same pot then add the onions and sauté for 10 minutes or until golden brown
Before serving, season the potatoes and apples with salt and apple cider vinegar to taste
Transfer to a serving dish and serve with crispy bacon and onion rings on top
