Caramelize the onion and garlic in olive oil
Add the ground beef and cook slowly
Achieve a simmer with the tomato puree and paste in a deep pot
Combine the cooked meat mixture with the peppers, salt, and pepper
Cook for 2 hours or until the sauce thickens
Remove the peppers and add the stuffed olives
Cook for an additional 10 minutes
Serve the sauce in one pot, macaroni in another, and Parmesan cheese grated separately
The sauce can be prepared ahead of time, but it's best to cook the macaroni at the last minute.
