Dough
2 cups of wheat flour
1 tablespoon of active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of granulated sugar
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup of milk
2 tablespoons of melted butter
Oil for frying
Granulated sugar for dusting
Glaze
2 and 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
6 cups of water
2 sticks of cinnamon
2 cloves
Dough

Make the glaze: combine all ingredients in a saucepan and boil, stirring constantly, until thickened
Remove the cinnamon and clove and reserve the warm glaze while preparing the donuts
Sift together the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar
Beat the egg and milk and incorporate into the dry mixture
Add the butter and mix until a soft dough forms
Knead until smooth and elastic
Divide the dough into 18 equal portions and shape into balls
Mold with the palm of your hand and create a hole in the center of each ball using a wooden spoon handle
Heat the oil and fry the donuts, a few at a time, until golden brown
Drain on paper towels and dust with granulated sugar
Serve with the warm glaze.
