Beat the egg whites until they become frothy
Gradually add 6 tablespoons of sugar, beating until a firm and shiny foam forms
Let the foamy mixture fall into a dish filled with 1 cm of boiling water
Place it in a preheated oven at a low temperature (130°C) for 10 minutes
Carefully remove the meringues from the water and let them drain on paper towels
Heat the milk
Beat the yolks with the remaining 4 tablespoons of sugar until they thicken and turn pale yellow
Gradually add the milk, mixing well
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly, covering the sides of a spoon
Cover
Place the pan in a basin filled with cold water to stop cooking
Add the vanilla
Pour into a glass container and top with meringues, then refrigerate
