Combine 3/4 cup of wheat germ, flour, green onion, and salt in a bowl
Add the butter pieces by spoonfuls and mix until a coarse crumb forms
Add the egg and 1 tablespoon of milk, mixing well with a fork
Mix thoroughly, then remove small balls of dough and shape into sticks approximately 9 inches long
Brush with the remaining 1/2 cup of milk and coat in the remaining 1/4 cup of wheat germ
Place on an ungreased baking sheet and bake in a hot oven (200°C) for 10 minutes, or until golden brown
Make about 6 sticks.
