Soften the yeast in warm water
In a bowl, combine confectioners' sugar, melted butter, 2 eggs, 3 egg yolks, and salt
Add the yeast mixture and mix
Add enough flour to obtain a consistent dough
Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes
Add raisins and candied fruits
Knead until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough
Divide into two portions and shape into round loaves
Place in greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 2-3 hours or until doubled in volume
Beat the egg yolk with 2 tablespoons of warm water, sugar, and flour to form a paste
Brush the loaves with this mixture and bake in a moderate oven for 35-45 minutes.
