    Make a basic pancake dough. With a sharp knife, cut each pancake into 8 triangles or thin strips measuring 1/2 cm in width and 7.5 cm in length to resemble talharim. In a medium-sized skillet or frying pan, heat enough oil (about 2 cm). Place a layer of the triangles or talharins on a wire mesh basket or strainer. Dip the basket into the oil and fry until golden brown, for 1-2 minutes, stirring once. Drain well. Serve as a savory snack.
