1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 packet active dry yeast
1 1/4 cups milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
2 to 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 packet active dry yeast
1 1/4 cups milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
2 to 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
Combine 1 1/2 cups of flour and yeast in a large bowl
In a separate pot, combine milk, sugar, melted butter or margarine, and salt
Heat over low heat, stirring constantly until the butter has melted
Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir to combine
Beat the egg in the mixer at low speed for 1/2 minute, scraping down the sides of the bowl occasionally
Beat for an additional 3 minutes at high speed and add any remaining flour
Knead the dough with your hands until it reaches a soft, pliable consistency
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 to 4 days or up to 3 hours before baking
About 1 1/2 to 2 hours before baking, shape the dough into various pieces
Place them on baking sheets lined with parchment paper
Cover the pies with a clean cloth and let them rise in a protected area until they have doubled in volume, about 1 to 1 1/4 hour
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°F for 9 to 10 minutes
Allow the pies to cool completely before serving.
