1/4 cup of warm water
1/2 cup of scalded milk
1/4 cup of granulated sugar

3 1/2 to 3 3/4 cups of wheat flour
1 packet of active dry yeast
1/4 cup of warm water
1/2 cup of scalded milk
1/4 cup of granulated sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 cup of butter or oil
2 3/4 cups of wheat flour
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cup of granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Dissolve the yeast in warm water
Mix the hot milk, sugar, salt, and butter or oil
Let it sit until the butter is fully dissolved
Add enough flour to form a sticky dough
Knead in the egg and beat well
Add the dissolved yeast mixture and mix well
Add the remaining flour and knead until smooth
Place on a floured surface, shape into a rectangle, and let it rest for 10 minutes
Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch
Brush with melted butter or oil
Mix together granulated sugar and ground cinnamon, and sprinkle evenly over the dough
Fold the dough in thirds, cut into 10 equal pieces, and shape each piece into a ball
Place the balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 1 inch of space between each loaf
Let it rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes, or until doubled in size
Preheat oven to 170° C (325° F)
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown
Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack
If desired, drizzle with icing made from confectioner's sugar and lemon juice.
