2/3 cup of warm milk, approximately
1 cheese yeast tablet
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 2/3 cups of all-purpose flour
1 cup of fresh homemade cheese
3 1/2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
1/2 cup of guava cut into small cubes
1/4 cup of granulated sugar
2/3 cup of warm milk, approximately

3 1/2 tablespoons of butter or margarine

Mix the warm milk with yeast, sugar, and salt
Mix well
Add the flour, cheese, and 2 tablespoons of melted butter
Mix well again
Knead thoroughly
Cover and let rise in a protected area for about 40 minutes
Knead once more
Shape small puffs, filling each one with guava
Place on a greased baking sheet and let rise another 15 minutes
Baste with the remaining butter (1 1/2 tablespoons) and sprinkle with granulated sugar
Bake in a moderate oven preheated to 180°C for about 35 minutes or until golden brown
Cook for 22 minutes
Note: For the savory version, use 1 tablespoon of salt instead of sugar, 1/3 cup of sesame seeds instead of granulated sugar for sprinkling, and 60g of cooked ham (1/2 cup) cut into small cubes as filling.
