1/2 cup liqueur of apricot, orange, or cherry brandy
1/2 cup water
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
4 cloves
1 cinnamon stick

Peel the pears and place them in a saucepan
Add the liqueur, water, sugar, lemon juice, cloves, and cinnamon
Cover the saucepan and let it simmer over low heat until the pears are tender
Let it cool down for some time in the refrigerator
Serve with the syrup, removing the cloves and cinnamon before serving
