6 oranges, cut very fine

2 bottles of dry white wine
1 large block of ice
3 bottles of cold champagne

Place the orange slices in a bowl and sprinkle with sugar
Pour one bottle of wine over the oranges and let it sit for an hour or more
Pour the mixture over a block of ice in the punch bowl
Add the remaining wine and champagne.
