Grease four ramekins with butter and set aside
In a 2-liter refrigerator-safe container, combine the milk and sugar
Heat in the microwave at high power until a foam forms on the surface, without boiling (approximately 3 minutes)
In a small bowl, lightly beat the eggs
SLOWLY add the hot milk mixture to the eggs, whisking well
Pour into the prepared ramekins
Arrange them in a large refrigerator-safe container and set aside
Heat the water in the microwave at high power until boiling (approximately 2 minutes)
Pour the boiling water over the ramekins to fill 2/3 of the height
Cook in the microwave at high power until the pudding is firm on the edges and still slightly moist in the center (approximately 4 minutes)
Let it rest for about 15 minutes
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 40 minutes
Demit from the ramekins and serve
