Combine the water with the cloves, ginger, cinnamon, lemon, and sugar in a pot
Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes
Turn off the heat
Cover the pot and let it rest for 1 hour
Let it cool
Add the wine and serve hot in small cups
