Cut the bread into 1 cm thick slices. Reserve
Place the sugar and water in a large pot and bring to a simmer over low heat
Let it cook for another 10 minutes from the time it starts to simmer
Meanwhile, strain the eggs through a fine-mesh sieve and reserve
Dip the bread slices in milk, without soaking them
Then dip them in the egg mixture and place them in the pot with the sugar syrup
Let it cook for two more minutes, flip the bread over
and let it cook for a bit longer
Remove from the pot using a slotted spoon and arrange the bread slices in a baking dish without stacking
Dust with cinnamon and serve chilled.
