Three-fourths cup of black beans
Three-fourths teaspoon of salt
One tablespoon of oil
Half a toothpick of finely chopped garlic
Three-fourths cup of black beans
Three-fourths teaspoon of salt
One tablespoon of oil
Half a toothpick of finely chopped garlic
Wash the black beans and remove any impurities
Let them soak in cold water for at least one day, making sure they are covered by about two cups of water
Cook the black beans in the same water, adding salt as needed
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let cook for approximately one hour until they're tender
Check if the black beans are cooked by applying gentle pressure between your fingers
If they're still too firm, continue cooking and checking every 15 minutes or so until they're done
To make a slightly thicker sauce, remove about one-quarter of the cooked black beans, mash well, and then add them back to the rest of the beans
Finally, heat oil in a small pan, add minced garlic and cook for a few minutes until it's lightly browned
Add this mixture to the black beans
Serve and enjoy!
