Whisk together the butter or margarine and sugar, and egg yolks
Painfully sift in the wheat flour with the baking powder, adding it gradually to the mixture of butter, alternating with milk at a slow pace
Beat the egg whites until fluffy and mix delicately into the dough
Pour into an greased pan, 34 x 22 cm
Bake in a preheated oven
at moderate temperature (170°C), for 40 minutes or until, when inserting a toothpick into the center, it comes out clean
