About 30 to 50 minutes before grilling the sardines, sprinkle them with 2 tablespoons of coarse salt
Do not wash or clean the sardines
Heat the grill
Grab the sardines by their tail and give them a pat on the counter to remove excess salt
Place the sardines on the grill
Let them cook one side, then carefully flip them over and cook the other side
Serve immediately with lemon wedges, salt, pepper, and melted butter
Fresh sardines do not need to be cleaned for some recipes
Do not let them cook too long, as they can dry out
Once prepared, you can remove the meat from the sardine bones in a single piece.
