Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form
Add the sugar and continue beating until the mixture becomes firm
Add the lemon juice and zest, and mix well

Preheat the oven to a low temperature and grease the baking sheet with butter
Place 1 tablespoon of meringue in each cup and spread it out into a ghostly shape (about 7 cm)
Add two cloves to each one to form the eyes

Repeat the process until the baking sheet is filled, leaving space between each whisper
Bake with the door slightly ajar (use a wooden spoon) for 2 hours or until firm
Let cool and carefully remove the whispers.
