Assemble the bread slices
In a still-warm bechamel, combine finely chopped ham and cooked eggs
Simmer for 15 minutes in boiling salted water
Pulse them as well
Mix well, season with salt and pepper, and set aside
Place a thick layer of this mixture on each toasted bread slice
Arrange the toast slices on a buttered plate and bake in the oven until golden brown, sprinkling grated Gruyère cheese over the top.
