2 bottles of red wine

Bring the sugar, water, lemon peel, cinnamon, and cloves to a boil over medium heat
Simmer for 15 minutes, then remove from heat
Strain out the lemon peel, cloves, and cinnamon sticks
Add in the red wine and let it simmer gently, without boiling
Serve hot.
