Remove outer leaves from asparagus spears
Trim woody ends from asparagus spears
Soak prepared asparagus in salted water with flour and lemon juice to prevent discoloration
Drain and arrange in a pan
Combine onion, salt, lemon juice, olive oil, water, green beans, carrot strips, and garlic
Cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes or until asparagus is tender
Serve cold with or without green beans with carrot strips, in olive oil, and sprinkle with parsley.
