For the coating
1 cup of wheat flour
1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened and crumbled
2 tablespoons of grated orange zest
1/2 teaspoon of salt
For the filling
1.25 kg of fresh acai berries, without pit, cut into chunks (any type)
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 teaspoon of salt

Mix all coating ingredients until they form a crumbly mixture
Set aside
Prepare the filling: mix all filling ingredients in a bowl and let it rest for 30 minutes to 2 hours, stirring occasionally
Preheat the oven to 350°F (medium)
Grease a 19x31 cm refractory dish and add the filling
Spread evenly and sprinkle the reserved coating mixture on top
Bake for 45 minutes or until the fruit is tender but not mushy, and the coating is golden brown and crispy
Serving: warm or at room temperature with vanilla ice cream
Yields 12 portions.
