2 1/2 cups of uncooked long-grain rice
2 1/2 cups of uncooked long-grain rice
Rinse the rice in a fine mesh strainer under cold running water until the water runs clear
Drain
Combine the rice and water in a saucepan
(If you prefer very tender rice, add an additional 1/2 cup of water)
Cook the rice, uncovered, over high heat for 10 minutes or until holes form on the surface of the rice
Cover and continue cooking over low heat for an additional 20 minutes.
