6 tablespoons of butter or margarine
1 and 1/2 cups of green onion
3 crushed garlic cloves
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground orange zest
pepper to taste
3 cups of rice
4 and 1/2 cups of beef broth
3 tablespoons of grated orange peel
3 cups of toasted and chopped pecans (not too finely chopped)

In a large saucepan, melt the butter or margarine, sauté the green onion and garlic until tender, add the cinnamon, orange zest, and pepper
Stir well
Add the rice and cook for a few minutes
Add the broth and grated orange peel
Cover and simmer slowly until the rice is cooked (if necessary, add more broth)
Add half of the pecans
Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with the remaining pecans
