1 basic cake recipe
For the syrup:
1 cup of orange juice
2 cups of orange liqueur (Curaçao, Grand Marnier or Cointreau)
For the glaze:
1/3 cup of rosewater gelée
3 tablespoons of orange liqueur

5 oranges

Make the cake according to the basic recipe
For the syrup: in a saucepan, combine the orange juice and orange liqueur and bring to a boil
Stir until dissolved and simmer for 10 minutes
Remove from heat and add the liqueur
Soak the cake with this syrup until it's well saturated
For the glaze: mix all ingredients and brush over the entire cake
To decorate: peel the oranges, remove the white part and cut into slices
Place the slices in a bowl and drizzle with orange juice, liqueur, and rum
Mix and refrigerate until ready to use
When serving, arrange the orange slices cut in half decoratively on top of the cake
