1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 3/4 cups granulated sugar
Melted butter for greasing
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 3/4 cups granulated sugar
Melted butter for greasing
In a medium saucepan, combine all the ingredients
Stir well
Heat over low heat without stirring until the mixture reaches a boil
Then, reduce the heat and let it simmer
Allow the mixture to thicken to the point where you can pull out a small amount of the cooked coconut mixture from the saucepan with your spatula and shape it into a ball
This should take about 5 minutes
Check by dropping a small amount of the mixture onto a plate with cold water
If it holds its shape, it's done
Remove the saucepan from the heat and spread the hot mixture immediately onto a smooth surface, such as marble or granite, that has been lightly buttered
Allow it to cool slightly and then work the "mass" with your hands by stretching and gently twisting until it becomes white, matte, and firm
Divide into three portions and stretch rapidly to achieve a thickness of 2 cm
Cut into 1.5 cm pieces with scissors
Distribute onto baking sheets and let dry for 3 hours
Wrap in special wrapping paper or store in an airtight container.
