In a large skillet, bring the water and unsalted butter to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally until dissolved (about 5 minutes)
Add the bananas, reduce the heat, cover, and cook until they're mashed (about 8 minutes)
Distribute the Minas cheese over the bananas, cover, and maintain at medium-high heat until melted (about 2 minutes)
If desired, sprinkle cinnamon on top and serve
